VALORIZEN's journey began in 2010, when its founders met while pursuing their PhDs at NC State University. Inspired by how research was translated into real-world products, they returned to Egypt with a mission to transform agricultural residues into high-value, sustainable materials.
While developing their technology, they faced many of the same barriers encountered by innovators across the region, including limited funding, inadequate research infrastructure, and commercialization challenges.
